Apparently in Germany, elephants (and other animals) get to chow down on old Christmas trees after the holidays are over. An ingredient found in pine bark helps reduce asthma attacks, thin blood, improve circulation, lower blood pressure, and relieve symptoms of diabetes. And the trees are good for the animal's digestion!
Now, this post appeals to me on so many levels. First, I just happen to be reading 'Water For Elephants' right now (which is only so-so). Second, I'm all for recycling and cool environmental news.
